  • Warning: Virus or Scam Alert

Someone using the handle of japedNeF on these forums sent me a private message today with no text, only a link. I do not click on links from unidentified sources as they frequently lead to dangerous websites. The URL is http: //bit.ly/2b4E3Oe. (spaces added so it won't act as a link). The unshortened URL turns out to be Projectgold.ru, so it is a site in Romania. Web of Trust reports that the link cannot be trusted. If you receive a private message from this person, DO NOT open the link. japedNeF should be banned from these forums.

Russia, not Romania (they're .ro, I believe). We'll handle it. Thanks for informing us!

Yes, you are correct. I did a little more investigation and it appears this person is Russian. Thanks for the quick response Draco and H-W.

Sorry about that, I know my comment is a little late. I will talk to Rob at some point about getting Administrative access to the Life of Rome website, so that I can add some sort of ReCaptcha, so we can stop spam bots.

I'm pretty sure vBulletin offers security options to counter the bots. Might want to look into that.

VBulletin defiantly does I've used it before and managed it for a year now it offers many decent systems/features to counter such issue.
