  • Gladiators as a minigame, Slaves for housing, and Military Sacrifices

Gladiators: Could do NPC as well as also player ones, i see it as a minigame almost, veteran players could buy and maintain a ludus, purchase npc slaves and train them into killing machines for the arena. An entry fee and wagers could be implemented in the arena, and fights could be held every week, or whenever players voted for it. The game "Domina" does this, itd be neat to see a more in depth version in an MMO. Non combatants or gladiator owners, (just random other players) Could watch and place bets.

Slaves: NPC slaves could help run the house players own, im not sure what all that involves, but a high one time price for a slave (as slaves arent paid), but you must ensure they are fed. They could give buffs to gathering, or passively upgrade and maintain structures. They could have loyalty as well, whipping slaves often (increases production?) would lower loyalty, while keeping them well fed and reasonably happy would keep the want to revolt down.

Another point for slaves, they could be all player driven. From roman players going out to keep the barbarians at bay, if they are able to knock out or make an enemy surrender, they could then take a slave back to the city and sell them. If the rebels attack and manage to free them, they then turn into NPCs that fight with and aid the rebels. Players are able to sell them in the slave market, and would have to keep guard over them on the way back from battles. Could also have many forms of reward and punishment, a slave that is close to revolt may be crucified, ensuring other slaves do not revolt for X days.

Sacrifices: The Romans would sometimes kill an animal, and "read" its entrails. Was thinking this could be implemented as a buff OR debuff system, just a 50/50 or whatever chance. Kill a goat that you bought from another player before battle, and you and your allies get a bonus, say 10% hp buff, or if it is a negative omen, maybe a speed penalty. If there are NPCs in the battle, it could effect them as well. making allies flee more easily etc

i would prefer if the player become a slave after commiting some sort of minor crime against rome and be forced to become a gladiator to earn their freedom (you dont have to stop being a gladiator though because in actual rome you could do it willingly)

thats a good idea, like archeage's jail system

Would still like to npc glad fights, that could be a whole thing in of itself.

Should have like a weekend big fight imo, maybe for npcs? train them for the week, then fight on weekends
